NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 500 Race Preview

The first thing you might notice about the winners of the 16 Cup races held at the "Auto Club Speedway" (Fontana, CA), is that only one of them was driving a Dodge.

That driver was Kasey Kahne (+1550), who won this race in 2006. The other 15 race winners are split between nine Fords and six Chevys, with Ford in Victory Lane six of the past 10 races.

That might bode well for Carl Edwards (+350), who seems to have the hot foot in the series at the moment. He won at Fontana in February, and his Roush teammates Greg Biffle (+1250) and Matt Kenseth (+950) are also previous winners (Kenseth twice). Kurt Busch (+5000) also won here in 2003 in a Roush Ford.

That's not to ignore Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson (+575) and Jeff Gordon (+1250), who have combined to win five races at Fontana. Gordon won in 1997, 1999, and 2004, while Johnson's wins came in 2002 and .....
